Festival 8

For Halloween weekend this year we rented an RV and headed out to California to see Dad's favorite band for three days in the desert. Grandma came along to help entertain Olive so Mom and Dad could go to the late night shows.

It was a fun-filled weekend. We blew bubbles, watched movies, took walks, visited the farmers market, people watched and carved pumpkins. And of course we dressed up for Halloween and ate lots of candy. Olive went as a bumble bee this year. Grandma was a witch and Mom and Dad went as German Beer Connoisseurs.

We learned a lot about traveling, saw some great music, and created a lot of memories. We can't thank grandma enough for all her help.

Grammy and Auntie Boo

Olive has a couple of visitors this week -- Grammy from Oregon and Auntie Boo from Indiana. We have packed a lot of activity in the first few days. Olive has shown Auntie and Grammy the Canyon and took them to a Halloween Carnival at school. Grammy even won a cake in the cake walk. We have also done a lot of playing and reading around the house.

We still have a few more days with Auntie and Grammy and will be sure to share more pictures. We always hope that by showing pictures of our guests having fun it will prompt more of you to come visit.

Playground Day

Olive loves a playground and we had this one all to ourselves! What a beautiful weekend to be outside...

Pop Pop Dewey

Olive had another visitor last week. Her Grandpa Jaynes came down for the weekend. Besides touring the Canyon (and riding the shuttle buses, one of Olive's favorite activities), Grandpa played puppets and ball with Little O. We tried all weekend to get Olive to call Grandpa Jaynes "Dewey" (a name by which he is known to many people), but since he is a Grandpa she stuck with Pop Pop.

It was nice to have my Dad come and visit and one of the highlights for me was taking the old man on a ride along with me while I was on patrol.

At the park

Olive is a big fan of going to the park when we go to Flagstaff. Her favorite is the slide.

Spa Day at the house

I had the day off of work today so I got to spend the day with Little O. Even though I try to entertain her, I feel that she usually entertains me. She always comes up with something fun for us to do...today it was pedicures.

Olive's Day

Another day in the life of Olive. Today she had some chores to do (I know my clean freak relatives would appreciate "cleaning lady Olive" ). And then she hung out outside and gave her "baby" a bath. Baby looked like she was having so much fun in O's old baby tub that Olive decided to join her. The water from the hose was a bit cold so she mainly dipped her little toes in and poured water onto the deck. Good fun.

One more from the North Rim

The first night on the North Rim we went to a cookout. They had a couple that provided some entertainment while we ate. Olive really enjoyed the singing, but eventually the Sandman came and Olive feel asleep. She made sure, however, to applaud after each song.
