HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

In honor of our original "kids" Olive went as a black dog for Halloween! We went to a Halloween Festival at the local park and then had a nice night of passing out candy and visiting with friends. Olive got lots of compliments and "ohhh's" and "ahhhhs". (We had a hard time getting a good pic of her since she was wearing all black but she was super cute!) Thanks Grandma Thayer for your seamstress skills! Will and I were especially proud of the pumpkins we carved earlier in the week so we also wanted to show off our handy work!

More pics of the Fam

Just a few more pictures of the family and their recent visit. We really enjoyed having them here and of course miss dearly. They did a great job of taking care of Olive (as usual!) and spoiling us with house cleaning and babysitting. We had lots of fun and of course laughed a lot!

They Finally Get to See Where We Live!

After several trips out for a visit Mom, Dad and Aunt Betsy finally got a chance to go out and explore some of the beautiful National Parks and Monuments that surround us. We had beautiful weather and everyone was amazed by the culture and varying natural landscapes. It was a great weekend!

We began at Sunset Crater National Monument. Volcanic features like cinder cones and collapsed lava tubes provided a beautiful beginning to our trip. Dad was especially impressed by the lava flow that stretches across the park. (Don't worry..it is not active anymore!)

Walnut Canyon National Monument presented us with 240 stairs to climb on the Island Trail. Everyone did great and we enjoyed seeing the ancient ruins of the cultures before us.

Last but definitely not least was a full day at Grand Canyon National Park. It was a beautiful day and everyone enjoyed seeing the great views and learning about the geology of the canyon. We even saw some Elk (against Dad's wishes HA! HA!). It was gorgeous, unbelievable, awesome and a wonderful day all around. It is truly worth seeing!

Halloween is coming

The weather has been beautiful in Flagstaff. We spent the weekend hanging out at the park and visiting a 'pumpkin patch' at a local nursery. Olive rode the swing and slid down the slide. She was very excited to pet a goat at the pumpkin patch. Olive's Halloween costume should be arriving soon and there are sure to be loads of pictures.
