First Thanksgiving

We went to Chris and Jen's for Thanksgiving for a big potluck. Olive tried turkey, ham and a little pumpkin pie. She also got to witness a lot of adults eat way too much.

Today we ran some errands, put up some Christmas decorations, relaxed, and we are going to enjoy some leftovers for dinner. A perfect day after Turkey Day.

Someone can't wait for dinner...

11 months

Its hard to believe that our little girl is soon going to be a year old. In the last few days she has taken to standing on her own -- walking will be next...

She has been such a sweet little girl lately. She has been exploring a lot, playing with the dogs, sleeping well and eating well. And as you can see from the pictures, she is ready for Thanksgiving.

The picture window

One of Olive's favorite activities these days is standing at the back door to watch the dogs in the backyard. She bangs on the door and 'talks' to the dogs while they roam the yard and deck. I think we like watching her as much as she enjoys watching the dogs.

Hiking the Canyon

Molly had to work at the Canyon on Saturday morning so Olive and I tagged along and took a little hike. Little O rode in the backpack a mile and a half down the Bright Angel trail; she enjoyed looking at hikers and mules as we dropped 1000 feet into the Canyon. On the way back up, Olive gave Daddy a pretty good workout as I carried her back up in my arms. We had a great walk, and Olive was quite a hit with other hikers on the trail. We are looking forward to having Molly with us on our next hike.

Little O

As you can see from the video Olive is getting herself around quite well these days. She crawls, climbs stairs, and if you'll notice the bruise on her head -- sometimes bumps into things. Olive is getting to be quite talkative and tends to scream as she moves around the house. She pretty much gives you the full range of all her 'faces' in the video as well. She has been a lot of fun to play with lately. It is so cool to see her little personality developing!

Happy Birthday Mommy

Today was Molly's birthday. We opened gifts, had some of Molly's favorite foods and had a nice day around the house. I think the greatest gift we gave her was a little extra sleeping in.
