Our week in Portland

Our week in the Rose City didn't turn out exactly as planned. Poor Molly was sick all week, and the weather was downright lousy. On the plus side, Miss Olive had quite a week.

It started with her first plane ride, in which she did very well. I don't think we got one dirty look from a fellow passenger and in fact, Olive got lots of compliments on her good behavior. We stayed with Grandma and Papa Mike and Olive got lots of attention and Molly and I were spoiled with meals, dessert, and our laundry done for us. Olive rewarded us all with her first real laugh which entertained us all.

Olive also got to spend time with Grandpa and Kim. She discovered that her Grandpa is quite a dancer and showed off all her moves in a marathon dance session. Olive was a perfect angel later in the week when we went out to eat with Grandpa and Kim.

One of the highlights of the week for me was taking Olive to Powell's Books. Her and I both picked a few books for ourselves at the Greatest Bookstore in the World, and the employees got a kick out of her "I Can't Read" T-shirt.

Of course there wasn't near enough time to do everything and see everyone we wanted. I was lucky to get to see a Wilson baseball game and see a couple of buddies, but there just wasn't enough time to do everything. I guess that means we'll have to go back soon.

Look what I can do!

As I was posting the last blog Molly was taking video of Olive. They were so funny we had to share...

Olive is learning to make 'raspberry' noises. One video is her mimicking Mom making noises, and the other is what happens when you make raspberries too soon after eating.

Enjoy!

Happy Monday

The weather has been fantastic in Flag as of late. We took advantage over the weekend...we worked in the yard, sat on the back deck, and played baseball. Today, we took the kids for a walk around the neighborhood.

No reason

Just an average Wednesday night around the house, but we just wanted to say hello. Everyone is healthy and happy and we wish you could all enjoy these 'ordinary' nights with us.

We also wanted to point out that we have added links to a couple of blogs on our site. One is Molly's cousin Tracy and her husband Neil who just had their first baby, a beautiful little girl named Emma. The other is my friend Jennifer who has two very cute little boys, and takes wonderful pictures. She is who I 'borrowed' the idea of doing a blog from.

In the Valley of the Sun

We made the drive south this weekend to Phoenix so that Olive could meet her Great Grandpa Jaynes and his lady friend Dottie. Grandpa is going to be 88 years old in a few weeks and it was pretty special to get to introduce him to his Great Granddaughter. Dottie made us dinner and we had a really nice visit. I get a kick out of seeing Grandpa, getting to talk old times and sports.

Olive also enjoyed her first time in a pool. Despite what it looks like in the video, she had a blast. And so did we, it was a fantastic weekend.

The Many Faces of Olive -- Video Edition

It's hard to believe it's already April...Olive has passed the three month mark and seems to be getting bigger everyday. We have a big month ahead of us, with a trip to Phoenix to see Great Grandpa Jaynes, and her first plane ride later this month to see the fam in Portland.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Here is a brand new video...
