Our week in the Rose City didn't turn out exactly as planned. Poor Molly was sick all week, and the weather was downright lousy. On the plus side, Miss Olive had quite a week.
It started with her first plane ride, in which she did very well. I don't think we got one dirty look from a fellow passenger and in fact, Olive got lots of compliments on her good behavior. We stayed with Grandma and Papa Mike and Olive got lots of attention and Molly and I were spoiled with meals, dessert, and our laundry done for us. Olive rewarded us all with her first real laugh which entertained us all.
Olive also got to spend time with Grandpa and Kim. She discovered that her Grandpa is quite a dancer and showed off all her moves in a marathon dance session. Olive was a perfect angel later in the week when we went out to eat with Grandpa and Kim.
One of the highlights of the week for me was taking Olive to Powell's Books. Her and I both picked a few books for ourselves at the Greatest Bookstore in the World, and the employees got a kick out of her "I Can't Read" T-shirt.
Of course there wasn't near enough time to do everything and see everyone we wanted. I was lucky to get to see a Wilson baseball game and see a couple of buddies, but there just wasn't enough time to do everything. I guess that means we'll have to go back soon.
